Neural Mobilization
Neural mobilization, also known as nerve gliding or neurodynamics, is a manual therapy technique used to improve the movement and function of the nervous system. It involves specific, controlled movements or hands-on techniques that gently stretch and mobilize nerves, helping to reduce pain, restore flexibility, and improve neural function. This approach is particularly effective for conditions involving nerve entrapment or irritation, such as sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and cervical radiculopathy. By promoting healthy nerve movement, neural mobilization can decrease sensitivity, enhance blood flow to the nerves, and alleviate symptoms like numbness, tingling, or radiating pain. When combined with other physical therapy interventions, neural mobilization plays a crucial role in restoring normal mobility and function, allowing patients to move more freely without nerve-related discomfort.
